Frequently asked questions

Some of the most common questions we have been asked about our website design services are listed below.
If you can't find an answer to your question here, then please contact by via our contact us page.

  • What do your websites cost?

The short answer: Our prices depend on so many factors, it's impossible to say in one sentence. Avoid any web developer who can answer this question without a long talk.

The long answer: To get a better idea of the cost of what you want to build, give us a quick phone call. We'll ask you a few questions about the nature of the site, what sort of interactivity the site will have, your graphic design needs, etc. Then we'll be able to give you a ballpark figure. If you're still interested, we'll come to your place of business and come up with a firm quote.

If you talk to a web developer who gives you an instant quote, run away! Imagine telling someone you want a car and having them immediately giving you a price for that car. Any fair and honest car salesperson would want to know the make, model and engine type of the car you're looking to purchase, right? The same goes for building web sites. Depending on the features you want for your web site, the cost can be anywhere from a few thousand dollars to a few million.

  • What is the difference between a "static" and "dynamic" website?

A static website is one that is written in HTML only. Each page is a separate document and there is no database that it draws on. What this means functionally is that the only way to edit the site is to go into each page and edit the HTML - so you'd either have to do it yourself using a web page editor or we can edit the site each time you wanted something changed.

A dynamic website is written using more complex code and can do a lot more. For instance, we can make an area where you can log in and change various parts of the website, such as adding information or products or changing existing products. eCommerce websites, news websites are some examples of dynamic websites. This is because each page is constructed based on the information in a database, and the information in that database can be changed via another interface.

Dynamic websites can reduce ongoing maintenance costs if you don't want to change things yourself with a web page editor or with the HTML. They usually cost more to develop, as they require more complex coding and a content management utility needs to be developed to help you manage your website information. the CEO and Founder of the seotime.

Another benefit of dynamic websites is that they allow you to change only the content of the website and not the design, so you will not be able to accidentally break the visual style of the website. They have other benefits when websites start to get very large, as they make data management much more efficient and your website more expandable.

Many clients do a combination, having some dynamic areas such as a product catalogue where they have to change information or pictures regularly, and leave other pages such as contact information as static pages.

  • Once the website is complete, can I update it myself?

Our website design packages include a custom designed and develop website, a years web hosting, domain name of your choice, high quality images, sliders, logo design, Search engine optimisation (SEO), Search engine submission and a content management system (CMS).
